Sometimes I just get in the mood to simply cook my family breakfast (and believe me when I say this...when someone decides to cook for my family, it's like cooking for an army!) Usually when my mother makes breakfast, she keeps it very simple and quick--whereas when I cook breakfast, it takes a good two hours to finish cooking and plating everything.
I made everyone French Toast sprinkled with powdered sugar, glazed with cinnamon butter, and dipped with maple syrup. I also placed a few raspberries and strawberries to add a bit of a "zing" taste to the sweetness of the syrup and sugar. On the side I made them low-sodium all-natural turkey bacon with a side of orange juice.
Needless to say, they all loved it! So, what is YOUR favorite breakfast? :~)

Thrifty Tuesdays
I figured it might be interesting if I begin doing something called Thrifty Tuesdays. Every Tuesday I will post a bargain I managed to find while out and about thrifting (I looove thrifting so hey, this is perfect!)
Today my Mother and I stopped at a Christian thrift store called CERV (Christian Emergency Response Volunteers...basically they're a non-profit place and any money they get from items sold goes to families/people in need in the surrounding community)
Anywho, I went in there in search of mason jars (Can't find those buggers anywhere!) but instead I found an old Pokemon movie for 25 cents (nabbed it for beau!) and I nabbed myself a pair of wicked cute shoes (and a pair of nike flip flops) for 50 cents! Um...STEAL!! I've seen shoes with a similar style running for about 45 bucks, and I snagged some for 25 cents? Please and thank you!
Like anything that is bought used (even new, sometimes,) these do need a good cleaning with some Awesome (literally, and AWESOME product!!) and they'll be good as new! They look SUPERB with cropped jeans, shorts, capri's...even leggings! They will definitely be put to good use. :~)
Do any of you enjoy thrifting? If so, what do you regularly hunt for?

An Afternoon Date with my J'aime.

We went on a little ice cream date a few weeks ago. the sizes of the ice cream were ridiculous! We bought mediums thinking that they'd be the size of smalls, but these things were about the size of pints! We couldn't even finish all the ice cream, that's how much was given to us. We then took a stroll along a river downtown, and wandered over to a "waterfall" to admire it for a little bit. We have another date coming up this week, so expect an update then!
(DIY) Refurbishing Glass Containers!
So, I don't know about any of you...but I relish a good craft project! So, if you have a few glass jars laying around, a can of primer, and some spray paint--you'll love this little treat!

Step 1: You will need a glass container, a can of primer, a bag of some sorts, and a can of spray paint in the color of your choice. As you can see from the photo, I've been messing with paint lately! (Wedding decorations ;~)

Step 2: Set the container on a bag on a flat surface [outside is good, so the fumes won't be much of a bother] and begin to spray the primer in a side-to-side motion a few inches away, until you can no longer see the glass. Allow this to sit for a few minutes, then turn the glass and continue to spray until the container is completely covered in primer. Allow to completely dry until moving onto the next step.

Step 3: Do the same method mentioned in step 2, except this time you are spraying with the spray paint in the color of your choice (I used purple!) And now you have a chic container for about anything your heart desires! I even did a vase to show you all what you can do!
